Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Center for the Application and Research of Gifted Individuals (CARGI) was established on March 25, 2019, following the publication of the Center's Regulation in the Official Gazette dated October 17, 2018, and numbered 30568.

The Center's Management Board, which began its work with the approval of the Rectorate on April 10, 2019, and the Center Advisory Board, which held its first meeting on August 29, 2019, structured the Center's annual work plan and priority projects. Until the end of 2019, interaction activities were carried out primarily to announce and promote the center to the university, official institutions, and the public.

The center, which paused its activities between 2021 and 2024, resumed its work with the newly established management board as of the Spring semester of 2024."
